Here we would like to introduce you to our team:
Tom Britton is a PhD student working on Festival Networks and Empire Formation. He has previously obtained an MA in Greek History from the University of Oxford.
Robin van Vliet is a PhD student working on Rome-oriented cults and festivals in the Greek world. She has obtained an MA in Ancient History from Utrecht University.
Adam Wiznura is a PhD student working on Festival Networks and Regional Identities, specifically with regards to Thessaly, Greece. He has obtained an MA in Classical Archaeology from the University of Alberta with a thesis titled “Negotiating Identities in Funerary Contexts: The Archaeology of Death in Hellenistic Demetrias (294-31 BC)”.
Dr. Christina Williamson is co-director and supervisor of the project from her expertise on festivals, sanctuaries, and network theory, and is working on Festival Sites and multi-vocal Place-making processes. Prof Dr Onno van Nijf, is PI and co-director and supervisor of the project from his expertise on sport, athletics, and festival culture. He is chair of the Ancient History section in Groningen.
