In the context of our project Connecting the Greeks and the Anchoring Innovation sub-project Anchoring Empire, we are organising a transdisciplinary conference focused on inter-urban connections through religion, to be held at the University of Groningen as a hybrid event on November 18-20.
The conference – Rooted Cities, Wandering Gods: Inter-Urban Religious Interaction – is intended to bring together scholars studying the urban societies of the ancient Mediterranean, concerned with the entanglement of religious beliefs, urban networks, and institutions of mobility and communication.
